Very much an Enneagram 5 and a Capricorn. And an introvert (with hermit-like tendencies). My ultimate goal is to live in a cabin in the mountains near a stream surrounding by books and cute woodland creatures (I kinda kid about that, but also… it is a very appealing option). I am stubborn, independent to a fault, slow to trust, and loyal to those that manage to crack my little shell and find the gooey center inside.
This sounds like the beginning of a terrible dating app profile. But I find it best to lead with the “less than positive” to see who remains to read on. I went to school for a long time to learn about science. A few years of lab research followed, which then led to my following the path of teaching. I am now 10+ years into life in the classroom (with experience at both the university and community college levels). And I don’t regret that choice at all. Learning is my favorite thing to do, and I can only hope to pass on a tiny sliver of my enthusiasm to my students.
I am a reader. Mostly fantasy, science fiction, and romance. With a dash of thriller, suspense, and horror. And a good non-fiction book every now and then (bonus points if it is about science). I mean, I’ll give anything a try, but these days fantasy and romance definitely take up the most space on my shelves. Mostly an ebook reader at the moment, but I do love a good physical copy book trophy. And an audiobook for those long work commutes. These days, most of what I write about are books and reading and fun places that I get to go to. With the occasional life update, opinion, or writing project in between.
Always in search of a good book, a good hiking trail, and some good coffee. Not necessarily in that order.
