Books and Cozy Chaos

Adding things

I went through a minimalist phase, and for some things I am still there. However, when it comes to books and making my home a cozy retreat, I am not opposed to collecting ephemera. I lived for a while with bare walls, which is ultimately not for me. Collecting books and weird cool things makes me happy.

A few items that have made it home with me recently are my new favorite necklace from Wyther. It is a star, and it gives off antique vibes. I love mixed metals, and this is now my go-to piece to wear daily.

I’ve also gone to a couple of oddities expos that have come to town this past year, the most recent being the Oddities & Curiosities expo. I ended up with tons of black cat artwork (and other trinkets), and had a lot of fun (my wallet would protest otherwise).

And at Marshalls, I found a work tote that I think might finally be what I’ve been looking for. All the big zippered pockets, a should strap, and looks good for every day use as well. Of course, while there, I found some fun new Dashing Diva nail wrap designs that I couldn’t not get, so now I’m excited to try them out.

While I am bringing stuff home, I am trying to be more intentional on what it is I do buy. Things that bring me joy and make me happy. Things that are handmade, when possible. And things that feel unique.
