In honor of Pride Month, here are a few of the physical book copies I have of stories with queer characters and/or queer authors. I’ve read more than these, but many are ebooks/library books/audiobooks. And some are a single book representing a larger body of work by that author. The books/authors are:
- Dark Night Golden Dawn – Alison Carr Waecheter
- The Light from Uncommon Stars – Ryka Aoki
- Pucking Around – Emily Rath
- One Night in Hartswood – Emma Denny
- The Stars Too Fondly – Emily Hamilton
- The Finacee Farce – Alexandria Bellefleur
- Late Bloomer – Mazey Eddings
- Can’t Spell Treason without Tea – Rebecca Thorne
- Sweet Obsession – Katee Robert
- Prophet – Sin Blache and Helene McDonald
- Holy Wrath – Victoria Mier
- Sword Crossed – Freya Marske
- Don’t Let the Forest In – CG Drewes
I read as widely as I can throughout the year. Granted, I can always do better, and be even more diverse in my reading. But I have always read queer stories. I will continue to do so. Especially in a political and world climate such as we find ourselves in these days, it is important to lift up the voices and stories of those that have always been the first to be harmed by those that seek power and to subjugate those deemed as “less.” No one is less. Everyone deserves to live and love without fear. Everyone deserves the right to live as they truly are.
Are there any books by queer authors/about queer characters that you would add to this list (or that I should add ot my TBR)?
