Since moving into my current space, I’ve had many iterations of bookshelves and library-like spaces. Now, I think I have reached my favorite form to date. Bookshelf wall.

I have two long walls in the living area, so one is for the couch, and one is now the “library.” The bottom shelves are IKEA, the middle is an IKEA desk and a bench that I thrifted years ago. The stacked cases are from Target, and the center white shelves were an Amazon find that had been used in the pantry before. The picture rails hanging are IKEA as well. Most of it is IKEA. All of it is modular, so I can rearrange and move easily. There is another huge shelf from Target near the fireplace, and even books on the mantle. The living space is now the library space.

I have tried to organize the books somewhat by genre. Although this will change as more books come in and I have to find places to fit them. Katee Robert has a whole section for their books. At some point maybe a whole case (because I am part of their Patreon, and I love their books). By far, fantasy and fantasy-adjacent is my largest genre, outside of the entire romance bookshelf.
Anyone else have a library at home that they love?
