Oh, life has taken a bit of a change over the last month. There I was, enjoying my absolutely LAZY days of summer, when I get an email from work with an opportunity to take on a new role (in addition to the one I already have). Yes, It comes with more money, but it also comes with a lot more admin responsibilities than I have had to this point. I took a day to think it over, and accepted. I am now realizing just how chaotic and busy the fall is going to get for me.

I know I can do it, and the higher powers that be where I work think I can do it. Now, to live up to expectations (mostly my own) and really make this opportunity my own.

But with new responsibility in my adulting life, things like this are going to take a hit. Hopefully not too much, but fair notice that posts may not be as consistent moving forward. I have a few banked, but as we get to September I may have to slow down a bit. I will never give this (or my other bookish spaces up), because they are my fun away from the day job. But my free time is going to get reduced, so I will have to be a bit more judicial in where I spend what time I do have open.

Also, with that, below is my July reading wrap-up. It got a little lost last week when things were getting situated at work.

Luckily, I got through a fair amount of the ARCs on my TBR last month. It will make things easier moving forward, and I may have to cut back on how many I ask for in the future. I am on two permanent ARC teams, but they usually give a fair amunt of lead time to read before pub day, so I should be good.

Here’s to a new chapter in my “real life.” Excited, nervous, and ready to tackle things as they come.
