I read a lot of romance (especially lately). And once I find an author I like, their backlist features heavily in my TBR and rotation for a while. So, here are some more “first vs. favorite” books for romance authors. These are little more into the “why choose,” monster-ish/paranormal categories.

Lexi Foss does a lot of paranormal romance with shifters and vampires and such. I did like most of the X-Clan books (and have read all of those), but Carnage Island is my favorite. Omegaverse/shifter, and a duet-style audiobook that is fire.
Katee Robert is one of my absolute favorite, all-time, romance authors. I belong to their Patreon. There has not been a miss yet, and their stories cover a wide range of characters and situations, and show all different types of relationships. The Beast, from the Wicked Villains series, is my favorite so far. I go back to it a lot, and have it on audio too. As a whole, the Dark Olympus series is great and has such a cool overall plot. But as a single book, The Beast is one that I love.

Sara Cate, like Katee Robert, is someone I will read just about anything from. And have read a lot. The first books I read of hers are the Wilde Boys Duet, and Free Fall, the second book in the duet, is just everything. Love it. Also, highly recommend the Salacious Players Club series.
Kathryn Moon is another author that writes across genres, with paranormal/monsters, omegaverse, and a lot of “why choose” relationships. Lola & the Millionaires (a duet) is one of my all-time favorites and I may have reread it at least 5 times already.

Devyn Sinclair’s omegaverse is one of my favorites to go to. It is more on the “sweet” end of things. There is angst, but the men are always down for their women from the drop and will do anything for her. They are so damn good.
Lily Gold writes “why choose,” and usually the relationships arise from some sort of forced-proximity situation. Triple Duty Bodyguards is my favorite, but Three Swedish Mountain Men is a close second place.

As I’ve posted here before, Lily Mayne writes such good monster romance. And Berries and Greed is my favorite. Low-angst, emotional, and so sweet.
