I’ve let my NetGalley shelf get a little full (for me). Luckily, most aren’t due for review for a few months, but my goal is to get most of them read by the end of March. Some of them have already been sitting there for a bit, and it is time to get to them (mainly so I can clear the shelf and eventually request more). I love reading ARCs, but I don’t like having too many on my TBR. It makes me anxious.

I just finished a nonfiction book about the evolution of the egg, Infinite Life by Jules Howard. And I have one that is direct from the author, Beyond the Aching Door by Veronica Mier, that is also on my TBR. I just finished reading The Hemlock Queen, book 2 in the Nightshade Crown Trilogy by Hannah Whitten. I got to read the first book as an ARC too, and was so happy to get this one as well! Tense and moody and full of dark fantasy and gods. I am now anxiously awaiting the final installment.
I’m also looking forward to One Year Ago in Spain by Evelyn Skye. I got to read The One Hundred Loves of Juliet as an ARC last year, and it was one of my favorite books of the year. So, no pressure on this book or anything.
Every time I think I want to take a break from ARC reading, a new book comes up that I want to ask for. And when the stars align, I get it. I still have no clue how I get chosen to read these sometimes (especially because I am a very small book reviewer), but I’m going to go with “magic and luck” and be thankful whenever a new book comes my way.
