I know this is a couple months behind, but I made a sizable addition to the personal library over the winter holidays. Thanks to Christmas and birthday money, I was able to hit up Half Price Books, the local indie bookstore Nowhere Books, and good ol’ Barnes & Noble for a stack of reads. Some new, some previous reads that I wanted my book trophy of. A decent chunk of these were featured in my ARC book haul post a while back. Of the new ones, I am a little hesitant to read “A Little Life” as I have been told by friends it is dense and sad (but good), so it will probably sit on the TBR shelf for a while.
Not pictured here are a couple even more recent buys: Legendborn and Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn. I am currently listening to Legendborn on audio, and it is excellent! Looking forward to finishing out this series that is a twist on Aurthurian legend. It is also an unflinching look at how a young black girl is seen by society, and that is heightened even more when she enters into the Legendborn society.
I am trying to not buy so many books at the moment, as my ARC list and TBR list is ever-growing. I did also start one of the books I’ve had on my shelf for a bit – Saint Death’s Daughter. I’m only a hundred or so pages into that one (and it is a thiccc book), but it is already weird and quirky and has an FMC that is allergic to violence. Which is her family’s bread and butter.
