Books and Cozy Chaos

November Book Wrap-Up

It’s a new month, so the time has come to wrap-up all the books I finished in the previous one. November was a decent month for books, and a fair few of them were audiobooks. Lost of commuting to and from work, so the time adds up quickly (especially when I still listen to them at 1.5X to 2X speed).

The top two books for November were also ARCs. They both hit deep, and The Hollow Plane showed me parts of myself that I didn’t think I would find in a book character. Mina was everything, and the dynamic between her as Ash is just perfection. I can’t wait for book two in the duology that comes out next year.

The Longest Autumn just made my heart ache. It was beautiful and bittersweet. A look at gods and mortals and love and loss. It comes out in January of next year.

I am forever a Jacksonville Rays universe fan, thanks to Emily Rath and the amazing characters she has created for that series. I love the Pucking Ever After Novellas, as they are a look at life beyond the book HEAs. And the narrators for her audiobooks are top notch, and bring so much to the stories that were already great, and now even better in audio.

Speaking of audio, it was frustrating to hear about everything that Britney Spears and Jill Duggar Dillard went through at the hands of their families.

And there were a couple of books that were highly anticipated, but didn’t quite hit the mark (for me). King of Greed was EVERYWHERE in my feeds for a while, and I do like Ana Huang as an author. But this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me compared to the first book in this series, King of Wrath. Seriously, Dante and Vivian set such a high bar, that neither of the two following books have lived up to them yet. And Q.B. Tyler’s The Worst Kept Secret had her signature daddy vibes and taboo spice, but the overall plot didn’t live up to some of her pervious books like What Was Mean to Be or Keep Her Safe. Still decent, just not what I was hoping for.

Here’s to December and new books! I am very much looking forward to Gold, the next book in the Plated Prisoner Series that comes out soon. And the sequel to Divine Rivals also comes out this month, and I very much am excited for that one.
