Katee Robert is one of my absolute favorite spicy romance authors. I stumbled upon her Wicked Villains series a couple years ago, and loved the kink positive, inclusive smut with interconnected plots and interesting characters. There are layers to all her books, and no one is really without some sort of darkness or issue to overcome or embrace. The image above has the three series of hers that I have read all of (or are currently in the middle of reading). Both Dark Olympus and Deal With a Demon are ongoing. And there is a Wicked Villains second generation series in the works (the children of the Wicked Villains couples).

What I love the most is that there is equal thought to the plotting and worlds as there is to the smut. This is how I love my romance books to be. And there is a wide variety of relationships and couples and groups (trios and more) in these worlds. They don’t shy away from the dark stuff, but keep it rooted in story and what the relationships and characters need to move forward.

Dark Olympus is quickly becoming one of my favorite series. You really do have to read them all in order, as the stories overlap and connect and they are really not stand alone stories.

If you’re looking for a new author in this genre (romance/dark romance/erotica), give Katee Robert a try. There is a lot of back catalogue to go through with all sorts of worlds created, you can probably find something that works for you.

Oh, and if you are into paranormal vampires with bites that basically make someone so overcome with pleasure they orgasm, try out Court of the Vampire Queen. It is camp and over the top and unapologetic.
