Not only do I love to read and find new books to enjoy, I also like sharing those books with others. Hence this blog, and my Instagram. And just generally talking books to friends and giving them a whole list of ideas (and getting new book ideas in return).
What is even more fun is when the person to recommend a book to loves it just as much as you do. I understand not everyone resonates with a book the same as me. One of my absolute favorite books of all time is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. However, not all of my friends like the same dreamy prose with meandering plot that I do in the book.
Recently, someone asked for book ideas, and I suggested The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot (by Marianne Cronin). The photos above are screenshots of our conversation. This was one of the few books that had me sobbing actual tears as I read it. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. It explored friendship in a different context, and it explored life as well, even though it takes place in a hospital. You know how it will end from the beginning, but the journey is the part that means the most in this story. How these two souls get to their respective ends of the story.
Sharing books with friends is like sharing a little part of my soul. These are things I love, and I gingerly hold them out and hope that others love them too.
