June was a good month for reading. I had no travel, no work (yay summer break for teachers!), and an intense urge to avoid the heatwave that is currently invading south TX. I read 37 total books this month.
I also am still really enjoying using Storygraph and getting all the stats from it. It’s fun to see numbers like this since it is not something I usually think about when I’m deep in a book. As it has been for a bit now, well over 50% of my books fall under the “spicy” tag. Most of those stories have a fast pace and I can get through them in a day or so at most. And most books are also eBooks for me right now, which I also read much more quickly than physical books. I was at 92% digital books this month. It helps that I have fully embraced sending Libby library books to my Kindle. Also, I have a list of books I own physical copies of that I look for at my library to borrow as an eBook so I can read them more easily… you gotta do what you gotta do ;).
Fourth Wing and Babel were my 5-star reads this month. Wildly different stories, but both done so well from a story point for me. The surprise for me in terms of favorites was a MM hockey romance, Gravity by Tal Bauer. I just fell in love with what turned out to be a sweet story of realization and deep love. My goal is to finally finish the Throne of Glass series by Sara J. Maas, and I picked up with Empire of Storms this month. Tower of Dawn and Kingdom of Ash are up for July. And then maybe I’ll finally get to the Crescent City series (I read ACOTAR first, so I’m catching up and then moving on with this world of overlapping stories).
