When we read books, often we get transported to new worlds, placed in new scenarios, and dropped into new conflicts that we wouldn’t normally be exposed to. Half the fun of reading (for me) is having a chance to not deal with real life for a few hours.
Another thing I love about books is getting to embrace the written word. Sometimes authors take an emotion, an event, or a character and explain things in a way that resonates so deeply, with words that make me feel the gamut of emotions, I can’t help but want to squirrel them away for later.
Above are a few quotes that stuck out. That either made me smirk, laugh, or cry, or find a new way to look at the world. Above everything, I love language. I love the nuance and the depth that a few well-chosen words can evoke in my soul.
